Positions listed by priority. The last few may be filled by the teacher.

*Board position that may come from Preschool or Pre-K class.
** If class is not full these positions will be used as extra service hours.
SECRETARY
- Take minutes of the business portion of all monthly meetings. Distribute minutes to chairman, teacher, parent educator via email, and post on bulletin board. If you miss a meeting you must arrange for someone else to take minutes. You will still need to distribute the minutes.
- Collect text numbers in case of a group emergency text, by the October Parent meeting.
- Take care of correspondence for the group such as cards for illness, births, thank-you notes, etc.
- Place items in parent files for teacher, when someone is absent at the parent meeting.
- On the day of parent meetings make sure that snack supplies are put out before the meeting. Take out the garbage after the meeting. You can assign people to help you do this.
FUNDRAISER
- Work with ICP board, 3’s preschool class to coordinate and facilitate fundraising events. (eg. Poinsettia sale in fall, Make-a Plate - spring)
- Work closely with the chairman and treasurer of both classes so that the board is up to date on all information and the church area is available to use.
LAUNDRY (2 parents share position)
- Responsible for washing towels and tablecloths weekly.
- Take laundry home on Friday and return it on the next school day and put it away.
- Wash dress-up clothes and mend if necessary or find someone who can mend.
- Wash teacher assistant aprons as needed.
PARENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE REPRESENTATIVE
- Attend approximately 8 one hour meetings with other area representatives and report pertinent information at our parent meetings. Meetings are usually held from 7:30pm – 8:30pm on the 1st Monday of the month near the BC campus.
- Coordinate PAC fundraisers for our group.
SAFETY & EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS
- Perform a safety check of the preschool and equipment 3 times during the year - once around fall set up and again during winter and spring quarters. This is to be kept in the risk management notebook in the school and a copy is to be given to the parent educator by May 15th.
- Work with the board to bring us up to compliance on any safety violations.
- Arrange for implementation of any safety repairs of equipment with the board and maintenance people.
- Collect (from parents) and organize emergency supplies for the Pre-K group. Student emergency kits are stored in the Circle room. Collect from each parent by the end of October.
- Purchase and store a 3 day food supply for the facility. This can be done at fall set up.
- Make sure all inside group emergency supplies are stored and maintained (flashlights in circle room, working battery operated radio, etc.)
SPECIAL EVENTS COORDINATOR/VIP CROWNS
- Help each child make a crown at least two weeks before their VIP date. Supplies will be provided and paid for by the preschool. If additional items are desired, check with teacher and /or treasurer to ensure expense is covered.
- Plan 2 or more special events each year according to needs and interest of group. Ex: parent’s night out; family social; meet for lunch, go on a hike etc..
- Plan end of the year picnic with the Chair and teacher.
- Coordinate making of T-shirts for the school; have the children help.
- Assist at any preschool special days - i.e. Family Museum Night, Mother’s Day, etc.
DOCUMENTATION/MEMORY BOOKS
- Help create a documentation file for each child.
- Keep track of observations of children, copy and file in their documentation file.
- Put together the memory books for each class. These are ordered through Shutterfly or Costco and include one page per child, a group photo, and photos of the teachers.
- Each child will have a page in the memory book. You will be responsible for putting together each child’s page and ordering and distributing the books for your class.
SCHOOL & PLAYGROUND MAINTENANCE
- Arrange events throughout the year (i.e. painting, etc.) at the request of the board or teacher. If a work party is scheduled at these times, will act as project manager at the party or will find a volunteer to do so. Work closely with the board, teachers, and other volunteers throughout the process.
- Help fix or arrange for someone to fix anything needed. Work with Doug from the church when needed.
- Keep the walkway clean of pine needles and help pick up pinecones, branches on the playground and grass area.
- Clean vacuum every 3 months. Fall/winter/spring
- Check all playground equipment for safety as you observe outside. Report anything unsafe.
- Twice a year, check all the bolts on the playground structure to make sure they are not loose. (Fall and Spring)
PHOTOGRAPHER
- Take pictures during the school year both during class and at field trips. Set up a Shutterfly shared account, if not already done and post the pictures to the site. Pictures will need to be available for the teacher throughout the year.
- Make poster board photo displays for the hall bulletin boards.
- Coordinate school group picture that is taken in the fall. Work with the 3’s Preschool photographer to hire the group photographer, arrange a date, etc. Must be present (not a working APT job) on the day of the group picture to help.
SUPPLY BUYER/EQUIPMENT ORGANIZER**
- Responsible for purchasing miscellaneous supplies such as garbage bags, utensils, napkins, cleaning supplies, paper, etc.
- Put away all purchased supplies at the school.
- Store extra products at home when necessary.
- Devise a supply inventory system and check school supplies monthly. Refill things as needed.
- Work with the teacher/instructor to keep cupboards and closets organized throughout the year.
FIELD TRIPS**
- Arrange field trips and or visitors in conjunction with the children’s teacher. There will be 1 field trip per month except for December and February.
- Arrange for payment of field trips in advance with the treasurer.
- Arrange for carpool, if necessary for those unable to drive. Follow state guidelines for insurance requirements.
- Send a thank you note to field trip host. (Sometimes the children will make these).
TEACHER’S HELPER**
- Will perform various duties for the teacher at her request. These may include helping after class to set up cutting, stapling, creating visual displays, taking things apart, etc.
FLOATER**
- Be flexible in helping out where needed throughout the school year.
